Local Music Video Roundup: Samantha Glass, Technicolor Teeth, The Hussy

All three videos prominently feature lit candles.
Several local bands have released music videos in the last couple weeks, and all three of them feature candles.  It's been a gloomy winter, I guess.

First up is the video for Samantha Glass's "Human Voice," a promo for Midnight Arrivals which Not Not Fun released on cassette last week.  This track is the most mellow of the bunch, with Willie Thurlow's keyboard organ riffs shimmering over Beau Devereaux's droning vocals and bass lines.  Soon they'll be embarking on a U.S tour with Iowa's Cuticle, followed by the vinyl release of the first SG full album, Mysteries Of The Palomino Skyliner, sometime later this year.  Check them out this Monday night at Mickey's Tavern (1524 Williamson St., Free, 10pm) with Lonesome Savages and Sonic Angels.

Though they're from Appleton, not Madison, the video for Technicolor Teeth's "Station Wagon" is too good to exclude.  The guitars are thoroughly drenched in distortion, I can't get the My Bloody Valentine-esque riff out of my head, it looks like it was a ton of fun to film & edit, and it has made me so stoked to buy everything these guys ever release.  They also just digitally released a full-length album, Teenage Pagans.

Last but not least is the video for The Hussy's "Undefined" off their Weed Seizure LP, which is scheduled for release on March 13th by Tic Tac Totally.  It's what you'd expect from this boy/girl duo: garage rock with some guitar shredding & reverb'd vocals.  They're gearing up for a long U.S. tour, starting with a warm-up show tomorrow night at the Crystal Corner (1301 Williamson St., $6, 10pm) with the Deadbeat Club, Dharma Dogs, and the Vipers.
